Formnext Forum Tokyo 2024: specialised AM event opens doors to new technology on 26 September

In less than one month, key additive manufacturing (AM) players will gather for the forum’s fifth edition, held 26 – 27 September at the Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial Trade Center HAMAMATSUCHO-KAN. 52 exhibitors from four countries, namely China, France, Japan and Korea, have confirmed participation in this year’s event. As a business platform for the latest information on the next generation of additive manufacturing, the event aims to further revitalise the industry by providing opportunities for exhibitors and visitors to connect. As well as giving direct access to new products and technologies on the show floor. The event’s seminars will give visitors necessary insights to make informed business decisions – with topics ranging from 3D printing in the construction industry to market insights from Japan and China.

Fringe programme to offer exclusive glimpse into key industry topics
During the two-day event, eight special seminars will present the most up-to-date information on the AM industry’s latest trends and technologies, as well as insights into the domestic and overseas markets. Featured seminars speakers include Ms Kitty Wang, Founder of 3D Science Valley and Representative of ACAM China, who will discuss the current status and prospects of the Chinese AM market and changes in the Chinese government’s support policies. In addition, Mr Yu Inoue, Sale Manager of DMM.com LLC, will discuss and provide specific examples of how DMM tries to introduce 3D printers into the Japanese market, and its future prospects.

Meanwhile, various industrial forums featuring 11 seminars will be held by leading AM organisations, including the Japan 3D Printing Industrial Technology Association, the University of Hyogo and the AM Research Association. All seminars will feature the latest information relating to technology innovation and prospects of the additive manufacturing industry, with topics including ‘Future of Manufacturing: How 3D Printers for Construction Will Change Our Society’, ‘AM Challenge of National Institute for Materials Science: Latest Report and Examples of R&D’, and more.

All seminars are free of charge, and some are open for pre-registration via the official website.

Held annually, Formnext Forum Tokyo attracts the entire spectrum of AM stakeholders. The event covers an array of advanced technology and all of the upstream and downstream AM processes and equipment, including materials, powder metallurgy, design, software, and post-processing technologies.
